On my Onkyo DLNA device DHCP is enabled and IP address is 192.168.0.7; sub mask 255.255.255.0; Gateway 192.168.0.1; DSN server 194.168.4.100.
Serviio Status tab shows at the bottom; Enable access for new devices and this is ticked. Next to it is Default access group and this is greyed out.
Next one Network settings has two options to select from the drop down menu; (1) automatically detected and (2) 192.168.0.5 (Atheros AR9285 wireless network adaptor) and this cannot be edited. So how do I "Change it to the proper setting, then click the Save button on the lower right corner" as you suggest?
Some more guidance please.
Regards

Yep, there's the problem.![]()
Exit the Serviio console. To completely close it, right click the Serviio icon in the Notification Area (Windows) and select exit console (going by memory here). Now restart the console. This should update the Network Settings box to the currently active network adapter.
If it doesn't, exit the console again, then restart the Serviio service. Assuming you are running Windows, click the Start button and type Services. This will find the services app. Open it, find Serviio in the list, click it, then click restart on the list in the left window. When that finishes, reopen the Serviio console and the correct IP address should be listed.
If you are using something besides Windows, someone else will have to tell you how to restart the service. Rebooting will also accomplish this.

Your network addresses have jumped for some reason. Before your addresses were 192.168.0.x, and now the Onkyo is using 192.168.137.x. Everything on your network must be within the same subnet. With normal home networks, this means that the first three numbers must be the same. Only the last digit changes, with .1 usually used by your router/Internet gateway.
What is assigning your IP addresses on your network? Usually it is a router/DSL or cable Modem. Find out what its settings are for the DHCP server. Sounds like something was altered somehow and it has changed its DHCP settings. When that happens, everything on the network must refresh its DHCP IP settings. Usually that means power cycling each device, although some devices keep their network connection active even when turned off. That means you may need to pull the power plug from each one for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in.

Connecting the laptop to Onkyo receiver and re-setting all now shows all folder/subfolder/music files and plays without any audio drop-outs. Thank you.
However when the laptop is on WiFi only, there is audio drop-out. Perhaps you can point me in the right direction as to where I should concentrate as keeping the laptop connected to the receiver is very inconvenient.
Kind regards
William

It was quite nice in London and Cambridge. Just dropping my daughter off at Cambridge as she begins her Masters and Doctorate studies![]()
If you are getting dropouts on Wi-Fi, but not when wired, then it's a simple issue of network speed. Your only option is to either increase your Wi-Fi speed (replacing the router if it doesn't support 802.11N or better and adding a faster external Wi-Fi card to the laptop if it doesn't support .11N or higher), or reduce the bitrate of what Serviio is streaming. Since reducing bitrate will potentially lower quality, that's perhaps not the best way to go, however.
Is there some reason you can't leave the laptop wired while using Serviio? If you must continue to use the laptop, consider finding an older computer that you can dedicate to just being your Serviio server. I have no clue what a used PC might cost there, but I'd be surprised if you couldn't get something reasonably nice for a couple hundred pounds or so. Of course, I have no idea what your finances are, so please don't take offence in the suggestion. Perhaps you have a friend that has an old cast off computer just sitting in a closet. It doesn't really take a lot of computer power to run Serviio, especially if no transcoding is required.
