What profile are you using? What types of media files? Container and audio codecs? Once we know that, we can look at changes to the profile, or suggest a different profile.

Re: Onkyo 607 TOSLINK 6 channel AAC to DD or DTS

I'm using panasonic 2013 config, video file format .mp4
I got this info from mediacenter classic:
Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920x816 23.976fps 1964kbps [V: h264 high L4.1, yuv420p, 1920x816, 1964 kb/s]
Audio: AAC 48000Hz 6ch 377kbps [A: English [eng] (aac lc, 48000 Hz, 5.1, 377 kb/s)]

Based on the info above i added

<Matches container="mp4" vCodec="h264" aCodec="aac" />

under

<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384" forceInheritance="true">

Is that the correct way? Onkyo says DD now instead of PCM.

Yep, I think you added it correctly. If the AVR now shows DD, then I'd say success!
