CHANGE OF ROUTER PASSWORD MAKES SERVIOO UNRECOG BY BLUE RAY

Dear all,

Kindly help

IF I CHANGE MY ROUTER WIFI PASSWORD MY PIONEER BLUE RAY PLAYER WHICH HAS INBUILT WIFI DOES NOT RECOGNIZE SERVIIO HOWEVER IF I REVERT TO THE OLD PASSWORD IT IMMEDIATELY RECOGNIZES SERVIIO MEDIA SERVER..

I HAVE NOT SAVED MY ROUTER PROFILES ON MY PIONEER BLUE RAY IT USED TO AUTOMATICALLY DETECT SERVIIO

Re: CHANGE OF ROUTER PASSWORD MAKES SERVIOO UNRECOG BY BLUE

If you connect almost any device to a Wi-Fi access point, the device will save the password for future connections. If you change the password on the access point, you have to reconnect any Wi-Fi devices with the new password. So yes, you have saved the original password on your BD player.

Right now, if you change your Wi-Fi password, your BD player no longer connects to your network, which is why it can't see Serviio. It won't see anything else, either, including the Internet for firmware updates. I'm unfamiliar with the Pioneer menu, so I can't tell you the steps to remove your previous connection and save the new password.

Thanks a ton mate,

Cudnt reply to you earlier ,sorry for that...

Well even i am not aware of how to change the router password on the pioneer BLUE RAY SYSTEM(MODEL BDP-160)......CAUSE THERE IS NO MENU OPTION WHERE IT SAYS "CHANGE WIFI ROUTER PASSWORD"----->ENTER NEW ONE

....tried calling up the PIONEEER HELPLINE...they are just as clueless as me....told me they will get back still waiting for their call...

On any bluray player I've had, there never is a place to simply change the password. Instead you need to go into settings and setup the network connection from scratch, whether it's wired or using wifi. You'll come to the screen asking for the password for the network then and enter the new password there.

Also, see if there's a setting under network to "forget" the current connection. Then start from scratch.
