default access group (pro version) not limiting access...

Hello.
I was having issues with every device in my home network automatically connecting to serviio 9or the other way around). I bought pro version so that I could limit access to three specific devices. However, this does not see to do anything. I am still having issues with devices connecting.

any thoughts?

Re: default access group (pro version) not limiting access..

Confirm on the status page of the console that you have Default Access Group set to Limited Access and "Enable access for new devices" is not checked. The second item is most important. If that is unchecked, no player should be able to access any content until you grant them access.

User groups are coming in the next version of Serviio, but I don't know when that will be available. But I think he's getting close.

I can see my the background tint that they show as disabled devices. Zip will likely need a copy of your log to research the problem, as that certainly isn't working as expected.

Thank you. I don't know what "Zip will likely need a copy of your log to research the problem" means or how to go about this.

Sorry. Zip is the person that created and maintains Serviio. He will want to see your log to look for any errors occurring. I don't know what operating system you are using, but in Windows the default Serviio install location is c:\Program Files\Serviio. There is a Logs folder within the install location. Find the file Serviio.log, compress the file, and add it as an attachment to a post here.

Are they actually connecting? There might be something cached on the devices. Can you actually browse Serviio on them?
