first use-server error

i have installed on imac and run software but all i get is a window saying.. "Cannot connect to server, it dosent seem to be running".
The instructions say check this address http://localhost:23423/console. that came up with "This site can’t be reachedlocalhost refused to connect."
I also turned off my firewall but that made no difference.

Bit of a shame that its fallen at the first hurdle and there is no other means of help?

Anyone got a suggestion that isn't overly technical please?

Many thanks.

Re: first use-server error

Please upload your Serviio log here. That appears to show that Serviio isn't starting, and the log is the only way we can find out why. Sometimes the database doesn't get set up correctly on install, and that could cause a non-start. Can't say why it happens, but usually a removal and reinstall resolves the issue.

Re: first use-server error

Yes, that's the correct log. Looking at it, there is a failure to open the database. In addition, it says this:

Invalid checksum on Page Page(1,Container(0, 2017)), expected=3,842,662,242, on-disk version=92,673,728

Checksum can either mean memory (RAM) or a drive issue. The first thing I would do is to uninstall/remove Serviio from the computer, reboot, then try installing again. If it again fails, your hard drive appears to have an error. What operating system are you using, and how old is the computer?
