Files not showing in certain folders.

Hello, I am trying to stream movies from my PC to my Samsung EH6030 TV. I have shared 3 folders - Movies, TV Shows and Music Videos. Weird thing is both the TV Shows and Music Videos folders are properly shared and they contain all the right files, but for some reason the Movies folder is empty. I have removed/added it several times, forced refreshes and whatnot, it just doesn't want to show the folder's contents, it comes empty. All the shared folders are with the same permissions and on the same hard disk drive. This is quite annoying. Furthermore, when I copy/move a file from Movies to TV Shows/Music Videos, the file shows up just fine. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time.

No, I can not see the contents of the "Movies" folder under VLC as well. Here is a screenshot:

Firstly, to check the obvious - have you checked the sharing in Serviio Console to ensure you have videos selected.

A suggestion. Try

• create a new folder "Movies1" under TV Shows (to inherit all permissions etc). Then move the folder where you want it
• share this folder in Serviio console, ensuring you tick Videos
• move a couple of videos to the new folder and refresh the Serviio library. See if you can see the files
• if you can see the files then move all the files, delete the old Movies folder and rename the new folder to Movies. Adjust the shared folders in Serviio Console and refresh library. Test again

Realise this is bypassing rather than solving the problem but if this works it must have been a permissions issue with the folder.

What do you mean by that? Are you referring to the Media Browser software? If so, I downloaded it and added the "Movies" folder. What should I be looking for?

MediaBrowser isn't external software (ie. you didn't need to download anything). It comes with Serviio Pro (yours free to try for the first 15 days with Serviio). To access it, go to the "Remote Tab" on serviio Console, enter a password in the area provided if you haven't already done so, and select the "Open MediaBrowser" link at the bottom of the tab. You will then go to your favorite web browse which will prompt you for a password... if you are still in your 15 day trial period or have upgraded to Pro, then MediaBrowser will open (if not, it will tell you your password is incorrect).
