MKV not playing with UE46D6500

Hi all

thanks for the software, it's working great so far.
I've been trying to play MKV - they are playing when coming from the USB stick, however, not from the NAS nor the serviio.

I've read about the profiles.xml, but i am far to less of an expert to get it right. I have not changed the default profiles.xml configuration.

Would you guys point me out into the right direction?

Thanks in advance

...good questions. Where do you select that?
My Transcoding screen looks like this:

respectively, the other screen looks like this (auto profiled)

Re: MKV not playing with UE46D6500

Hi all

here's an udpdate (from Samsung) this TV, allegedly, does not support playing MKV over anything else than USB. - That is frankly, frustrating.

BUT, I am sure that there are ways to get Serviio to solve that. I have also heard of on-the-fly file encoding (perhaps that's essentially transcoding) eg, mkv -> VOB. Knowing all that, there's gotta be way. And also, I found this here: http://www.avforums.com/forums/lcd-led- ... t-1-a.html
Not that it would do any good with a differnt TV, but perhaps there are similarities.

Thanks for any suggestions and help on this one

can you post media info and FFmpeg -i on the file that does not play please because with currently selected profile MKV files should play fine.

see my signiture for howto's if required :)
