When is Serviio gonna act!?

Owners of Samsung J series TVs can't play srt subtitles over DLNA. All of us support Serviio, many have purchased the software, what now!? Weeks have gone by and still no fix. I'm very disappointed. Unbelievable really.

Re: When is Serviio gonna act!?

I haven't tried anything with SRT subs, but I do know there's a problem using the H profile on a J set. I can't play any of my WTV files on a fresh clean 1.5.2 install. My main server is working, so I have to compare the two computers to see if I had done some tweaking. Be aware that Serviio is only supported by one person, and if he doesn't have a specific model set it's tough for him to develop a profile for it. He depends on users to help with the various playback devices.

Also, I have a 4K video clip that will play fine using the Windows DLNA server, but through Serviio I get a playback error. Hadn't bothered with it yet, since there's practically no 4K material available outside Amazon, Netflix, YouTube and M-Go.

I wish I understood the Device Spy information better, and I'd try to build a J/JU profile. Someone has uploaded the device format support info to the Wiki. I think it was me, but I can't remember. :? Tough getting old!

Thank you for the explanation.
Unfortunately I'm completely in the dark when it comes to the tech aspects of Serviio, wish I could help somehow.
Hope the "serviio man" figures the SRT support for the J series. As u mentioned, the 4K support is not really needed yet.
