Serviio and BubbleUPNP

I'm having some trouble with serviio 1.5.2 and bubbleupnp 2.4.1.1 on my Galaxy S5. The phone seems to have trouble seeing Serviio as a valid DLNA library on my network. Every other appliance on my network can see the serviio connection but the phone. I'm not sure if this is an issue of compatibility between bubble and the network or what.

Has anyone else used these two together before? is there any configuration on the phone and/or serviio that'll get this to work? (serviio does not have a bubble profile so I'm using genric DLNA at this time).

MY phone can ping the serviio server, it can see a folder list using es file explorer, but it can't seem to detect the dlna service.

Re: Serviio and BubbleUPNP

Media house can't see serviio either, it can see the WMP12 streams from my two home PCs, but it can't see serviio. But at the same time, I've got a test video streaming on serviio to my secondary PC and to my Samsung TV, so serviio is up but the android phone can't seem to see the advertisement.

PC is using a static IP and also it's firewall off for testpurposes, still no joy.

Even serviigo can't see my server on this phone.

Re: Serviio and BubbleUPNP

That's strange, I've been using Serviio with BubbleUPNP (and MX Player) for a few years (Galaxy 2 & 4, Asus Transformer, One +1) on generic profile with no problem.

No problems here either. I have several tablets and phones running BubbleUPnP here. All works well. You sure you haven't got a firewall on your phone which is blocking upnp/dlna? Remove any firewall/antivirus from your phone then try again.

Re: Serviio and BubbleUPNP

I had this same problem until I rebooted my server that Serviio was running on. I had a lot of outstanding updates that didn't complete installation without reboot and it interfered with Serviio from operating properly.

Re: Serviio and BubbleUPNP

That is strange.

BubbleUpnp and Serviio is working for me on both my servers.

One is local, a Banana Pro single board computer and since I'm in the same WiFi I can access and play files from it with ease.
The second server is located in a datacenter but when I am connected through VPN I can access the files with BubbleUpnp as well.

First things first;

Check if you have any firewall rules on BOTH machines.
Then check if they are within the same IP range. My home network has 192.168.1 and 1952.168.2 subnets, so I know that's a possibility.

Then try other DLNA clients and control points as well. Maybe some setting on your phone is off..
