InvalidAudioFrameException when indexing MP3s

Hi,
I am getting the below message in the debug log when I restart serviio service 1.5.2 (Win7):

WARN [MetadataExtractionCoordinator] Skipping processing metadata for an unsupported file (D:\Music\xy.mp3). Message: org.jaudiotagger.audio.exceptions.InvalidAudioFrameException: No audio header found within xy.mp3

This happens for all files in that particular folder (and some other folders too). If I try to play them in VLC they are playing smoothly.

I checked the folder and file perms, all OK -> everyone has full access to them.

Any hints what I could try?
Thanks.

Re: InvalidAudioFrameException when indexing MP3s

Sorry - I forgot to describe the root error I have:

browsing on the media browser displays nearly all music I have published - on my DLNA devices I see NO music - nothing at all! No Folder, no music files.

Thanks.

Probably the library Serviio uses cannot parse the mp3 files properly. Either they are 'weird' or the library has a bug. I assume they are not DRMed?

Re: InvalidAudioFrameException when indexing MP3s

Hi Petr,

I think I solved it - partially.

First, I moved my entire music library to a newly created folder - this brought back a part of my library to my TV DLNA Media Players. Seems my machine´s heartbeat became a little shaky... :?
Next, I re-ripped the music from my CDs where I faced the error messages. Before, I used EAC (Exact Audio Copy) with LAME Encoder under Win7 64bit. Now, I tried it with Rythmbox and gstreamer0.10.ugly plugin under Ubuntu 14.4 and this worked. WTF!

Now, I still miss the music library on my Webradio tuner... but I will search the settings.

thanks,

Mike

Re: InvalidAudioFrameException when indexing MP3s

OK - now I got all back. The last thing I missed was that I limited the music library to the "limited access" group.

Changed that and voila - they are all back now.

Hope this helps someone if there´s a similar problem... ;-)

Cheers,

Mike
