TV Shows category empty

Hallo,
I've just ripped my Walking Dead Season 5 into one of my serviio library folders.
Named them like "Walking Dead S05E01.mkv".
The TV Show category of Serviio doesn't show anything.
Is there something I need to do in addition?
Thanks and regards

Re: TV Shows category empty

Rename the file to "The Walking Dead S05E01.mkv". That should fix it, if not post MediaInfo details for the file (see sig block).

Re: TV Shows category empty

That's already how the file is named. I was a bit unprecise in my first post.
Here is precisly how my file and folder structure looks like:
Serien\ (<- that's the shared folder in the serviio library. Should it probably better be named "TV Shows"?)
->The Walking Dead\
--->The Walking Dead Season 1\
--->The Walking Dead Season 2\
....
--->The Walking Dead Season 5\
----->The Walking Dead S05E01.ts (<- actually I don't use mkv but ts)
----->The Walking Dead S05E02.ts
....
Then I use Tiny Media Manager to create .nfo files in XBMC format which appears to serve pretty well for all other categories in Serviio. Find an example attached with the MediaInfo file. I can't upload the file with it's original extension (.nfo) so I've renamed it to .txt (The Walking Dead S01E01.txt).

Re: TV Shows category empty

May I ask, what is the purpose of the nfo file? I see nothing in there relating to any metadata info. It isn't required by Serviio to play the file in question. I see a discrepancy between the nfo file and the media information, in that one (nfo) calls out an aspect ratio of 1.33 (4x3) and the other (media) states 16x9, although they have a matching pixel width and height.

I just don't see the purpose of the nfo file as shown. I'm not saying they don't have their place, and please don't think I'm picking a fight, but you don't need them to play the file.

Your file naming should be fine. The only time I've encountered issues is when there's more than one version of a TV show (Hawaii Five-O, Dragnet). I don't think that's an issue for yours, though. I'm wondering if it might help to use the IMDB identifier in the folder and/or file name (tt1520211 for english). I'm not experienced with using these. Perhaps using it in the root folder and it would propagate to the files within? Zip? DenyAll? Thoughts?

Re: TV Shows category empty

Hi Dan,
the nfo file provides additional Information like plot, credits, director, year and so on to the DLNA Client.
This file should be in a XBMC compatible format which correlates to the corresponding Setting in Serviio.
(At least that's what I thought how it works).

I thought that this would be used for receiving tv Show Information also.
Obviously it isn't.
In the meantime I've tried to put the files one Level higher in the driectory tree.
So I've removed the season Level.
That appears to work.
