When streaming movies with DTS-ES audio (6.1) I get no sound from center-surround channel. However, my receiver's center-surround led is on. I have tried more than one movies and the result was the same. Why is that?

Is it possible to see if the movie will play correctly from a USB drive? I realize not all TVs can do this.
How are you using Serviio? Is it from a Smart TV, with the audio sent back to an AVR via optical or ARC? If so, that's likely the issue. Optical and ARC do not support any audio higher than basic Dolby Digital or DTS. Once you go higher on the audio ladder (Dolby Digital +/TrueHD or DTS-ES/Master Audio) the only way to get that audio track is using an external player, such as a Blu-Ray player or other media streaming box.

Re: No sound from center-surround channel with DTS-ES
Thank you very much. Serviio is on my laptop and audio is sent to the receiver from a vierra panasonic tv, via optical cable. I thought that optical cable would support any kind of audio signal. It's a pity it does not.

I still have a question. I see -more and more frequently- movie torrents with dts hd audio. What would you recommend to do with such an mkv file, in order to get it's audio track correctly? Is there a way to do this using serviio?

Any HD audio track in a movie will require transcoding, unless you use an external player (such as a Blu-Ray player) that connects to an AVR via HDMI. That's the only way you can use any HD audio track, such as Dolby TrueHD or DTS Master Audio. Any app built into the TV (such as their DLNA client) will require transcoding.
The one possible exception is with DTS Master Audio. The TV might recognize the lossy DTS core within the MA track and just play that. My Sony BD player will give me TrueHD but only the lossy DTS, even when I have the MA track selected. I don't know if the TV would do the same thing.
