Media Browser says I need Flash Player but I already have it

Hello Everyone,

I recently upgraded to v1.6 from v 1.5. When I go into Media Browser and select music, I'm told I need Adobe Flash. I have Flash and I've upgraded it a couple of time but I still get the notification. See the attached image below. Flash Player indicates that I need to configure Google Chrome a certain way for Flash but I can't seem to make it work. I don't have Google Chrome but I assume that the Media Browser is based on Chrome.

Furthermore, I have never used Media Browser before. I have always used the browser on my device. I can't seem to do anything with the browser except for browsing. I can't play music, I can't "send to device", etc. All I can do is browse without any other actions. I presume it's because of the flash player problems. If the browser allows me to queue music straight to a device from the browser ("send to device") I would strongly consider purchasing the pro version.

Any ideas?

I presume you ran Mediabrowser from the Console application?
This is a known issue that will be fixed in the next release (from 1.6.1 if you select Mediabrowser from the console "app" it will open MB in your default browser rather than within the "app").

In the meantime you can run MB from your normal browser by entering http://localhost:23424/Mediabrowser in the address bar.

Re: Media Browser says I need Flash Player but I already hav

Hi,

Thanks for the update. It works normally when I open it up directly from a browser window.

Still, though, it seems that I can only play music from within the Media Browser. I was hoping that I could use Media Browser to find and queue music and "throw" the music to my AV receiver for playback. Windows has that feature where you can select a song or video and choose to "Play to" a device that's on your network.

Am I missing something or does Media Browser not offer that kind of functionality?

No it does not. You would need some DLNA / UPnP controller software to do that.

Hi Petr,

Is the UPNP controller software you mentioned something that I can download and use with Serviio? Do you have a suggestion for any software that work well with Serviio? I like the idea of browsing my music files on my computer and just queueing them to my AV Receiver. I can do that with Windows but the windows service is basic and not very smooth or easy to use.

I'm much rather browse my computer and send music to my receiver as opposed to using the interface of my receiver to do that.

I think it might be built-in to WIndows (Play to). I know there are some for Android (Bubble UPnP).
