How can I display filenames on devices

Hello, Serviio keeps trying to guess what my files are and gets it wrong 99.9% of the time, how can I get it to just display filenames. I name my files so I know what they are, why doesn't it just default to showing these?

Re: How can I display filenames on devices

The folder view shows file name. If your files are not being identified correctly, the choices you have are to disable online metadata extraction or create your own nfo files with the metadata you want.

Of course, if your files were named in the proper format, then online metadata should work. Of course, this only applies to movies and TV episodes, and not personal videos. File naming can be temperamental to get correct metadata. But it's your preference and decision as to what way to go.

Re: How can I display filenames on devices

my files are personal recordings from an enigma2 reciver named like this
"20160402 1457 - Sky Sports F1 - Live Bahrain GP_ Qualifying.ts"
or
"20160402 1242 - Sky Sports F1 - Live Bahrain GP_ Practice 3.ts"

Everything follows this naming scheme, and serviio decides to rename everything to "Empire Records.mp4"

If it can't be found in thetvdb.com (for TV broadcasts), themoviedb.com, or IMDB, then online metadata won't be unavailable. That likely explains why it is naming them incorrectly. If that's the extent of your videos (recorded TV, not ripped movies or TV episodes), then you should probably disable online metadata. That should revert everything to file names. I'm making an assumption that it will delete the previously downloaded (erroneous) metadata. If it doesn't, then you probably need to uninstall and re-install Serviio. I'm not certain that you can just delete the database and let it rebuild, but I could be mistaken.

You can just disable Descriptive metadata for this particular shared folder as well
