Subtitle file names are not displayed correctly again

Guys, has anyone encountered some problems with new version of Serviio. I made this work perfectly on last version but after updating it, it got broken. I saved profile entry and copied it to new profile file, but it's broken somehow. Even with entry i still have problem listing files as text.srt. I again see 5012_SUBTITLE; instead of s01e01.srt.

How can i fix it?

also there has been another problem. now while watching movies, my subs have wierd display at some characters. it should be ć č đ ž š; but it's showing some other symbols. What Subtitles character encoding should i use for Central Europian (for æ to become ć). Note that my TV is set correctly. At some point i saw letter how they should be, but than it got broken again, and i didn't change nothing. Anyone knows what triggers this?
I'm currently using MacCentralEurope and it still doesn't work.

here's my entire profile entry :

<Profile id="TF" name="Telefunken" extendsProfileId="1">
<Transcoding>
<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384">
<Matches container="*" vCodec="h265" />
<Matches container="*" vCodec="h263" />
<Matches container="*" vFourCC="div3,div4,div5,divx,dm4v,dx50,xvid" />
<Matches container="*" vCodec="mpeg4" />
</Video>
</Transcoding>
<Subtitles>
<SoftSubs mime-type="text/srt" />
<HardSubs>
<TextBased supported="false" />
</HardSubs>
</Subtitles>
</Profile>

Re: Subtitle file names are not displayed correctly again

For the subtitle name, did you apply some patch to the serviio code (not profiles.xml)? I think there was one flying around.

For the encoding, Serviio now tries to guess the encoding (if you select that option), so try that. It's then convert the subtitles to UTF-8 (so set that on your TV if you can). Alternatively attach the subtitle file here and I can try it out myself. Did you try it in MediaBrowser?

Re: Subtitle file names are not displayed correctly again

Hey thanks for reply.

I fixed subtitle character text..strangely if you change any major option in serviio, you have to restart computer for it to change effect :- strange as that sounds..i tried logging off or stopin - restarting servio service and all...but it didn't work untill i restarted whole computer...hmmm..i fixed it by using ISO-8859-2 encoding.

for subtitle name...i don't understand what patch..i used 1.6.1 version and after update came out i installed 1.7 version but since it wasn't patch, setup made sure to reinstall new version over previous one, i saved entry from my old profiles.xml...and copied that text into new refreshed profiles.xml. i checked there wasn't any entry from before, so i made sure it doesn't overlap or something. maybe they changed something.

Can you please look into this again? Or hook me up with patch. I'm using 1.7. version. Subtitle names worked just fine i 1.6.1. After i installed 1.7 over previous it stopped working. Is the entry wrong in profiles.xml or is something changed?. Thank you again.

Serviio has never had subtitles file names. If you saw that, you must have had an unofficial patch. It's not something profiles.xml can change either.

Re: Subtitle file names are not displayed correctly again

Oh i see.. i did replace some files though but i figured this late. files were identical sizes so i thought nothing has changed..

But this now begs the question...why is this even still an issue after it has been detected in old version? You have to agree that naming subtitles like that when the source file is named differently is not very usefull. More, it's even anoying.

if you check this topic, momchil found a fix and asked to import this code, when it takes only few minutes. He even put code public.. can it be done so we don't have to use modded files anymore?
