More basic help please.

I'm sure many of you who read the forum will be tempted to shame me for not understanding Serviio better than I do. Indulge me because I suspect the overwhelming majority of folks who come here are like me - trying their best to learn what they can and have it all work for them.

Here's the scenario:

1. I have had Mac # 1 runnining fine. Have it set up in conjunction with Serviio so that I can watch and listen to what the Mac is
"feeding" it. Can watch on Mac, iPad, iPhone and Samsung smart TV. So far so good..

2. Today I put Serviio on Mac # 2. Mac # 2 is now "feeding" Serviio what I've told it to...BUT I do not see the Folders or the contents of them from Mac # 1.

Is this how it is supposed to work? I guess I thought both Macs would be identical, syncing up.

Re: More basic help please.

While you have Serviio running on two computers, they do not sync up. They are completely independent, so you have to configure the shared folders on both machines. Also remember that by default the Serviio service doesn't not run with network privileges, so if you are trying to access media on a different computer you may need to change the user account that the Serviio service uses.
