Subtitles not working on sony devices

Ok, I am pretty sure this problem was posted before, but I can't find a recent solution - all the posts i've seen on google are like 3 years old.

I managed to make serviio work on my macbook pro, and I can find all the videos on my sony Blu Ray Player (sony bdp s6200). The problem is that I can't change the language of my files or choose the subtitles. I managed to choose the audio track I want to play with MKVtoolNix by removing the other audio tracks, but I still can't play the subtitles. They do work when I put the video on a pendrive. Is there any solution or workaround for my problem? I really don't want to hard sub my files...

This sounds like your files are being transcoded when they don't require it. What profile are you using? Try using the Generic profile, which transcodes nothing.

Re: Subtitles not working on sony devices

AFAIK Sony devices (the new ones after 2012) support embedded subtitles. So if your file has them embedded, they should be visible via the remote.
Otherwise you'll have to enable Hardsubs.

Re: Subtitles not working on sony devices

It is a new sony device, and transcoding is enabled. Still no subtitles, and I still can't change the audio on any files. (I am trying to play MKV and mp4 files).

I also noticed an issue with music: whenever I play a song the player cuts the first one or two seconds of the song.

Did you enable burned in subtitles? For the embedded subs you also have to enter the preferred language codes as per http://www.serviio.org/index.php?option ... icle&id=33

Yes, I did. I am not sure what is wrong... I can't select the audio OR the subtitles on the bluray player.
