Play uncompressed RAR files

It would be useful if video files could be streamed directly from files that have been split into uncompressed rar's. Many downloaded movies are spilt in this way and it would be great if this could be played without unpacking. This is a feature that XBMC has which I find very useful as files can be played straight after downloading. It also helps with defragging the drive.

Thanks

Re: Play uncompressed RAR files

seems pointless to me when uncompressed RAR files are bigger in size than the actual film so a waste of space..

No, I'm not going to encourage piracy here, sorry.

Re: Play uncompressed RAR files

In the EU we pay billions of dollars yearly to film, tv and music industries for the right to private copy copyrighted materials between friends and family.
So you are not supporting piracy, you are supporting the right to share files with family and friends, something we are paying for on storage-devices and even smart phones now days.

When sharing files in this way the primary way is to split up a large file into smaller files with applications as rar, zip or 7zip.
You wouldn't want to re-download 6gb of data just because of a few broken bytes when you could re-download a 50mb file instead.
