version 2.0 last viewed issue

With version 2.0 of serviio the "last viewed" display category is empty.
With earlier version of serviio, it would contain a number of videos I
recently viewed.

In upgrading to 2.0 from serviio-1.10 was there some upgrade
script that had to be run to migrate the database from 1.10 to 2.0?????

There are no exceptions showing up in stdout with version 2.0 (running earlier version of serviio always had
a couple of exception stack traces showing up).

Re: version 2.0 last viewed issue

Just want to give a "me too"

Just installed the new V2 on my QNAP, and now "Last Viewed" somehow actually HANGS my Samsung TV completely to where I have to restart it.

Needless to say this was all flawless on my previous 1.x version.

Re: version 2.0 last viewed issue

FWIW, this seems (for me, a paid subscriber with the user feature enabled) to be a side effect of the new user profile strategy in Serviio.
I can't tell if you have the professional version or not, so I can't speak with certainty about the free version.

Previously, the last viewed date was stored in the MEDIA_ITEM table and was used to determine entries in the 'previously viewed' categories (i.e. Unwatched, Last Viewed, etc.)
When I upgraded to v2.0, the previous history was NOT transferred to the new history location (PLAY_HISTORY table) which enables history on a per-user basis.

If I remember correctly, there is no 'default user' created during the upgrade (user feature not migrated with this 'major' upgrade as a new license needs to be purchased), so it would not be possible to migrate the history during the upgrade.
As there is no means to 'import' history when users are created (for those who choose to pay for the feature) and there does not appear to be any fallback strategy to pull from the MEDIA_ITEM table when no history is available for the user, those of us who enjoyed the 'Previously Unwatched' feature are stuck with seeing every media item again (within the limits of the view list, of course). This makes any media view that relies on history somewhat useless.
I do not know if the original logic is in place when using the free version (without user support), but I'll predict no.

End result: Each (new) user has to watch everything again... or one can write some SQL code to migrate the history.

Re: version 2.0 last viewed issue

that sounds about right. there was no way to transport the history to any user, as they don't exist in the new installation yet

Re: version 2.0 last viewed issue

I have a Sony, fairly new, have had v2.0 running for months now, and STILL "Last Viewed" list never loads. Is there a way to reset the list so that it works, do I have to set up each device as a user, or do I just "don't use it because it is broken and will not self-repair"?
