Samsung support for DLNA is terrible. I have completely stopped using my smart TV functions and instead use external players. My wife still prefers using an older Sony BD player, while I used a Roku Ultra and now use an Nvidia Shield. This way I can also get the lossless audio (TrueHD/Atmos or DTS-MA/X) deom my HD/UHD rips. Playing through the TV interface you're stuck with Dolby Digital or DTS, and the TV is too dumb to switch itself between them.
But yeah, I don't think Samsung supports VOB playback.
