I have been tring to fix an issue is I am tring to add the Alien(s) Trilogy to the server but there is 1 files that is not wanting to be seen by Devices "XBox 360 and Sony SMP-100 Network player" in Folder Mode. I have changed the name it is fine on the Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection but not Alien. It shows up on the Media Browser which means it is getting the Metadata and being added to the list but is not showing up at all. They were backed up from DVD with the same settings for each one unless the file having DTS Audio as the primary is an issue because the others have AC3 5.1 as main. If the DTS Surround sound is an issue let me know.
Re: Video not showing up on Devices
For some reason your players have determined the file is unplayable so hides it. The fact it's appearing in MediaBrowser seems to back this up. You could also try naming the file "Alien (1979).mp4" or "Alien tt0078748.mp4" The second version is using the IMDB ID number, and that can help sometimes. You have tested the video to make sure it's playable, right?
I wouldn't expect DTS to be a problem. I had a couple of old SMP-N200 players that would play DTS without an issue, and I would certainly expect the XBox to do the same. But you could use a program like tsMuxeR to reorder the audio tracks and make the DD track primary and see if that fixes the problem. I'm pretty sure you can open an MP4 file in tsMuxeR.

Re: Video not showing up on Devices
It is playable I tested it before I transferred it over the the Drive on my server and tested it with VLC on my server also plays and tried the Alien tt0078748.mp4 rename and nope.
Re: Video not showing up on Devices
Well, VLC will play almost anything.
I guess it would be worth trying to set the DD audio track as default instead of DTS. Since everything else is the same as the viewable files, I'm at a loss for what else it could be.
