Anyone use Nvida Sheild with Serviio. Are there any special profiles that I should be using ?
Re: Nvida Shield
Yep, I have the 2017 and 2019 versions. I don't use any profile at all, just leave it on generic. So far I haven't encountered anything that won't play, and captions from every works as well. I use Kodi as my primary player, but MrMC works as well. VLC plays everything, but I often can't get the bitstream audio and it's converted into PCM for some reason.

If I stream using Oppo I see True Hd on the screen however when using VLC I get Multi Channel 7.1. Not sure if I am even getting the uncompressed audio.
Re: Nvida Shield
Yeah, I don't have a great experience with VLC for some reason. It is set to pass the bitstream audio, but it's not doing it. I flew home this afternoon, and I'm sitting in front of my '19 Shield right now. Fired up VLC, and wouldn't you know it, TrueHD is working correctly. One DTS-MA movie only showed DTS, and another started showing DTS-MA but dropped to DTS. I just fired up the same movie in Kodi and it's DTS-MA without a problem. This particular AVR doesn't support Atmos/DTS:X, but I know my '17 Shield does both of them just fine.
Chances are you are still getting uncompressed audio with the Oppo, but Atmos wouldn't pass accurately. Kodi on the Shield is my go-to player for Lossless audio, caption and UHD HDR support.
