Serviio 2.1 isn't seen by 2/3 of my Roku devices.
I have been using Serviio for years on my Linux machine, it has been the best DLNA server I could find. We have been accessing it with our Rokus in the house with no issues until now.
I have had issues upgrading Serviio in the past to newer versions, just mismatches with java, etc. Nothing insurmountable, just how much time was I willing to invest in upgrading. I don't even recall what version I was running up to this point. It might have been 1.10 or older.
But I just did an in-place upgrade of my OS from Devuan Ascii to Devuan Beowulf. I downloaded the new version of Serviio (2.1), decompressed it to /opt/, and updated my java version. After basic configuration, it started creating the media library.
When it was done, I went into the next room and tested it from my kids' TCL Roku TV. Works!
I came to find out, however, that it doesn't work on the two other Rokus in the house.
Here is the setup:
Serviio is on my Linux machine, which is wired connection to the wireless router, static IP.
The Rokus are all on the wireless network, using DHCP to get an IP in the same address space as the server.
I don't have the version info at hand, but here are the Rokus:
1. TCL Roku TV bought this year. 20 feet away on same floor as router, works great.
2. Roku usb stick, 40 feet away, same floor as router. Doesn't find Serviio.
3. Roku 2 (maybe?) 2 floors away in basement, Doesn't find Serviio.
Other computers in the basement access wireless fine, and the Rokus work with all other channels on it so they can connect to the wifi.
The ones that don't work give slightly different errors, but basically they can't see any DLNA servers.
All the Rokus are up to date, and have been restarted.
Nothing else has changed. One day they worked, the next - with the new version of Serviio - they didn't.
I searched the forum, but didn't find an answer if it's out there.
I'm stumped. Any ideas?
