Subtitles on WMS and SERVIIO - SONY BRAVIA

Hello.
I understand that WileMediaServer does support embedding subtitles in the video stream during transcoding.

How does it done ?
WMS also uses ffmpeg and the embedding (at least SRTs) has not been released yet.

If we figure out how WMS does this using ffmpeg maybe ZIP can implement it in SERVIIO.

How know that most (if not all ) SONY BRAVIA holders are looking for this for a long time.

They most likely use MPlayer for that

ffmpeg version 0.7_beta1 now supports "SubRip (srt) subtitle encoder and decoder".

Does this enable serviio to transcode/hard-burn SRTs into the video stream so that SONY's owners can now use "external subs" using serviio ?

A text video filter is needed to hook up with the srt encoder.

Is this something to be implemented inside "ffmpeg" or "serviio" ?

If "serviio" , is it within the application or the "profile" ?
