Re: Mac user with a PS3

Thanks. Can you get the same set of resources for the file that Serviio produces?

Re: Mac user with a PS3

I can not. There is no resources attached to the file properties from the serviio feed of that file (1408.m4v), only properties.

Now for the file that does work (Tron Legacy.m4v), I get:
  Code:
http-get:*:video/mp4:DLNA.ORG_PN=AVC_MP4_MP_HD_1080i_AAC;DLNA.ORG_OP=01;DLNA.ORG_CI=0;DLNA.ORG_FLAGS=01500000000000000000000000000000

Re: Mac user with a PS3

Ah, now I remember. Because MP4 file with HD H264 and AC3 is not a valid DLNA format Serviio doesn't serve it. It has been 'fixed' for 0.6, basically describing it as a SD video, hoping the players will not mind. It's not strict DLNA standard but looks like most players will play it.

Ah, very good. I shall patiently wait for 0.6 release. 8-)

Re: Mac user with a PS3

Sorry, I got busy and haven't been able to mess with this until today. Funny thing... all my MKVs now show up in the list with the title and movie poster instead of a generic icon and "Unsupported data" like they were a week ago. Could that be due to the library building itself up? They seem to play fine too. For Apple movie trailers, I honestly gave up and converted them to m4v files. However, I tried to play one of my personal MOV files from my Kodak HD camera to get the log for you. Unfortunately, nothing is there because I assume I waited too long. All I see in the log is all this sort of thing:

I see nothing about the videos I tired to play. Did I wait too long to check the logs?

Here is some advise for future Mac versions. Don't store logs or profile files inside the application package. What happens when the average Joe downloads a new version of Serviio and replaces the application? The lose their custom profile xml files. By having a log file in there, the size of the application will grow. Like I said before, having to "show package contents" to get to this stuff is something the average Mac user is not accustomed to. I would recommend putting these items in ~/library/Application Support/Serviio or in the preferences folder. Just my two cents. I'm not a software developer. :-)

Re: Mac user with a PS3

Ok, noticing there are older log files (again these should not be stored inside the application package IMO) I found the log from when I tried to play one of my MOV files from the Kodak PlaySport camera. I hope I grabbed everything you need to know...

Re: Mac user with a PS3

Seems it's streamed natively and PS3 should play it. Not sure if this file has to be transcoded.

Re: Mac user with a PS3

Yeah, like I said, same files play fine when copied to the PS3 hard drive. Serviio shows them in the list with the movie poster for 2010 (lol) but when I try to play them I get "Unsupported data." What's that "I/O error: Broken pipe" all about? None of the other movies show that in the log.

Re: Mac user with a PS3

Interesting... I just found this thread and the guy has the camera I do. There seems to be a trick to force format profile to 4.1 for a Sony Bravia TV...

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2079&hilit=playsport&start=20

I wonder if that trick will work on a PS3?
