profile for eva2000

I have gotten most of my movies to work with my Netgear EVA2000 using the DirecTV HD-DVR. But I cannot get it to auto pick the profile that I made for it. The name EVA2000 shows up under device name. Also any idea how to get the ff/rev to work.

Also trying to get a video to play with the following information.

Re: profile for eva2000

Detection could be done as:

  Code:
<Detection>
  <UPnPSearch>
    <FriendlyName>Netgear EVA2000</FriendlyName>
  </UPnPSearch>
</Detection>

Re: profile for eva2000

I will try that tonight. Is there anything that I can add that might get the fastfoward working on the EVA2000?

Re: profile for eva2000

Depends if it's supported. You're using a profile that transcodes everything, you should try creating one from scratch to see if the device can play some files natively.

Re: profile for eva2000

I will have to play with it more.

It is suppose to play the following.

Audio files AAC, MP3, OGG, WMA.
Image files JPEG.
Video files ASF, AVI, DivX, H.264, MKV, MOV, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMV, XviD.

Looking back at the video that will not play mentioned in this thread the only thing I see that could cause a problem is the audio. It is an "ac3" audio and the EVA2000 does not play AC3.

I will try and sit down one day soon and customize a profile for the this player.

I know the Fast forward worked when I was using Tversity. It would go up to 50X speed in increments. I have tried all the buttons and no fast foward.

Re: profile for eva2000

It might play ac3 in a video file. Start with the generic profile and take it from there. It seems it should play a lot of files natively.

Re: profile for eva2000

I copied the directv profile and pasted it to the end of the profile configuration. I made the changes to the detection settings per the above recommendations. Restarted Serviio and it recognized the EVA2000 and now for some reason my fast forwarding is working great. The fast forwarding is working no time based by speed based. ie 1X, 50X, 256X speed. The Fast Forward seemed to work on all files that I tried. Even transcoded files.

I disabled transcoding in the console and some of the avi files I tried played good and some did not. I think I am going to have to get more detailed in what AVI files need to be transcoded and which avi files do not have to be.

Since serviio is basically the only thing running on a Athlon 64 2.4 Ghz 4 Gig Ubuntu 10.04 machine, I am not worried to much about the transcoding everything.

Re: profile for eva2000

moltra,

If you don't mind, could you please post the complete profile you are using for the EVA2000. I have a similar device (Jadoo) and am currently using the DirecTV profile.

Thanks very much.

Re: profile for eva2000

Actually, I have been using the directTV profile myself. since the last update. I will make the changes in this thread and try and tweak it so only required files are trancoded.

I have not worried about it since, Serviio is the only program running on the computer.

Re: profile for eva2000

The DirecTV profile works........but like you mentioned in the first post, I don't have any fast forwarding or rewind. I thought maybe a profile tweak is all I need.

Thanks.

I will look when I get home, I can FF / REV most files with no problem. Let me look and see if I made any changes to the profile.

hi!
I just recently found servioo, it seems to work great with my avi files, fast forwward works OK on both Generic and Direct-TV
I'm also interested in the profile for EVA2000, I like to have SVTPlay running but there is some problem with transcoding

Re: profile for eva2000

Hey Karlbo,

I have a JadooTV Box (which is similar to the EVA2000). I only use Serviio to watch Youtube, which play nicely without any buffering issues. However, my issue is trying to get fast forward/rewind while watching Youtube, which I haven't found yet.

I'm sure a profile will fix our issues. I would be willing to PayPal some funds to anyone who can get my Youtube working with fast forward and rewind.
