Play Collections in order?

I was wondering if we could add an option to be able to watch video collections in the correct order? I have a few video collections that if I set the player to "play all" some of the movies will play out of order because it lists in alphabetical order. For example
Folder: Pirates of the Caribbean Collection
Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End (2007)
Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest (2006)
Pirates of the Caribbean The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)

Folder: Harry Potter Collection
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007)
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)

Folder: X-Men Collection
X-Men (2000)
X-Men First Class (2011)
X-Men The Last Stand (2006)
X2 X-Men United (2003)

Is there a way to treat the collections like TV series? Have a "collections" folder and play all of the movies in order according to year and not alphabetical?
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Play Collections in order?

I'm not sure if we can get the information about a collection from the online sources. We can get the year but probably not that a video belongs to a collection.

Thanks for the quick response. Is there a way to do this on the local level? Manual playlist or something like that?

Re: Play Collections in order?

A while back an user was trying to set up Star Wars Movies as a series. Depending on the Render this might allow collections to play in order.

Look at this thread to see what he did.

I do not see anything about online sources.

Re: Play Collections in order?

online sources are the primary source for metadata and creating a Sets category which would be empty most of the time is useless

Re: Play Collections in order?

What they guy did before was make up custom .nfo files with the series metadata. He did not use the online metadata sources.

Thanks,

Have you thought about putting the year before the Title name?
ie changing "X-Men First Class (2011)" to "(2011) X-Men First Class", and so forth.
Alphabetical logic would normally order them by the number in that case.

Exactly! My series start with a number (01, 02, etc.). In the Movies view, those numbers are not visible, because of the online titles. In the Folder view however, you'll see the filename as it is on the disc. If I want to watch some movies in the right order, I choose another path (Folder -> Movie folder) and they will be in the right order.

Re: Play Collections in order?

Or you can just rename the files and place them in their own folder ;)

1-title
2-tile
etc

edit oops like above post :(
