Blue button - D series

My D series experience is that the TV will provide the Resume D button, and provide accellerated ff/rew when direction keys are held down, but that the BR players do not support the Resume D button function, and only jump 10 seconds with eack direction key press.

With my Harmony, I have implemented jump forward 3 minutes and 9 minutes, and back 2 minutes buttons using the tools/time menu which allows me to move within videos that support jump.

Hope that helps.

What do you mean by sketchie. It either works or it does not. I have a 2011 D model BR player and they all use the same firmware and the "D Button" resume feature does not appear when restarting the play back of any video.

Perhaps you would post the model number that you have where the D button prompt does appear on restart. I'd love to buy one.

ok jhb50 please stop jump on tons of posts, sketchie mean sometimes it works sometime it does the changes Samsung made to teh way D series device work was rubbish. BUT most of the time with one change in the profile you can fix these issues, this is why i suggested in the beta forum that you are a member of that the C and D profile need to be slip up to best suit the two profiles.

now if you wnat to try this to fix your problem and there is no promise it will work you can do the following:

remove this code from the samsung profile ( ONLY FOR D SERIES DEVICES )
  Code:
<DeviceDescription>
  <ExtraElements><sec:ProductCap>smi,DCM10,getMediaInfo.sec,getCaptionInfo.sec</sec:ProductCap> <sec:X_ProductCap>smi,DCM10,getMediaInfo.sec,getCaptionInfo.sec</sec:X_ProductCap></ExtraElements>
  </DeviceDescription>
  <ContentDirectoryDefinitionFilter>org.serviio.upnp.service.contentdirectory.definition.SamsungContentDirectoryDefinitionFilter</ContentDirectoryDefinitionFilter>

ok now if you want to Help make a profile that better suits the D series jhb50 then post the device information into a thread in teh beta section and i will try and work with you to get it sorted, personal i dont mind leaving the profile as it is as i have a C series and mine works great.

Re: Cannot see the resume function and forward/rewind too sl

Just to confirm, this profile change does nothing to enable Resume on D series BR players simply because the Blue Button support that is on the C Series BR Players that the profile change helps, has been removed from the D Series BR players, so the profile has no impact on that function.

Resume has NOT been removed form the D series devices dont talk rubbish and further more the line ARE DEFFINATELY REQUIRED for all C series devices.

I did not say devices. I said BR. The TV works fine. You might want to get one and see for yourself. I can only report on the actual function of the devices I have and have tested. Blue (D) button support is definitely not on the 2011 D series BR devices, and there is no reference in the manual that it is there, as the TV manual has.

oh yer and the manual is always correct :roll: the fact its not working might be that we need a new device description line for D series devices to make it work, so please stop make wild assumption before you are sure of ALL the fact as all you will do is confuse normal users.

i have said to you if you start a NEW topic in teh beta forums away from normal users i will help you sort out teh D series devices but if you continue to do this is multiple unrealated thread i wont bother at all.

Re: Cannot see the resume function and forward/rewind too sl

OK, let's try that route. I'd be more than happy to see my D series BR player function as the TV does with a functional Blue(D) Button Resume and Sort. Perhaps you can do it.
