Serviio only displaying 10 items in menu on PlayStation 3

Per zip, I'm opening this support issue.

I am only able to see 10 total items in my Serviio entry on my PlayStation 3 under the Video option of the XMB. This includes two folders, "Videos" and "Pictures" (Pictures will show no content as its just pictures and not video), and 8 online sources. In actuality, I currently have 10 online sources setup in Serviio.

All entries (the 2 folders and 10 online sources) appear in the XMB on my Sony Blu-ray player. My presentation settings in Serviio for Video are:
Video: Display content only
-Folders: Display content only
-Online Sources: Display content only

All other presentation settings under video are set to "Disable".

hmm ok let me look into this tonight, as i wasnt aware of any issue with ps3 and certainly when i tested it with 0.6 beta i didnt notice any issues.

Any ideas on what may be causing this? Any other info you need?

Has there been any progress on this? Can I help in any way?

2 questions:

1) does this happen only with online feeds or does that happen when you set (for example) Video/Titles to Show content only? It should show a lot of folders representing first initials of (local) videos.

2) I need you to run this for me:
- install Intel tools (see my signature)
- run DeviceSpy
- select Serviio server, .....Content Directory, Browse -> right click -> Invoke Action
- enter these details to the fields:

It happens for both. I normally have 'Video' and 'Folders' set to 'Display Content Only' with all other options on 'Disable', so I wasnt seeing much on that first level out of Serviio on the PS3. I changed 'Folder' to 'Disable' and 'Titles' to 'Display Content Only' with the same result: It showed only 10 folders.

Yes, thanks. It shows 12 children but the PS3 only asks for the first 10 then. Not sure if it's a limitation of PS3 (max 10 folders). Did you try other servers to see if it happens as well?

I know that for PS3, the maximum folder depth is 8. Don't know if there were a maximum folder number in the same depth.

Using other devices, it displays more than 10. But it seems to be only at this level that an issue exists. Digging a level deeper will displays all folders correctly.

Yet again, why I'd love to see an Online Source Folder...that would solve my issue.

Did you try changing Online Feeds folder to Enabled on the presentation tab (instead of Contents only).

As dumb as it sounds, I did not. I will try that tonight...

Sure enough, changing 'Display Content Only' to 'Display Category' solved the problem. Once I opened the category there, I was able to see 12 online sources, past the 10 limit I had been seeing one level higher.
