OK so here is my problem i have no idea what im doing... or where to start - Im hoping u guys can guide me step by step on what to do, just FYI i have tried TVersity, ORB, And PMS, and while they are ok i have heard that Serviio is freaking amazing and i'd like to know how to set it up, ok first off im using xp sp 2 (since sp3 blocks dlna compliant servers half the time) OK first off my Ips

wifi Ethernet LAN - 192,168.0.101
Linksys Router- 192.168.1.1
PS3-192.168.0.100

sooo any idea whai i should do, i should mention that the subnet mask is all the same 255.255.255.0
and that PMS and TVersity worked /// i just dont know how to use this ... so can u plz help me? ty in advance!

Re: Playstation 3 FW 4.00 and Serviio.

its very simple,

1. Firstly as your clever good at networks set all devices with prefered/reserved Ip address's.

2. Make sure port TCP 8895 and UDP 1900 are open on your server firewall.

3. Install serviio. ( yer it does help ;) )

4. Open the serviio console and enter the IP of the SERVER running serviio in bound IP field. (click save at bottom of page)

5. Restart serviio.

6. Once serviio has restarted check that it is now detected by your TV. ( If it is then proceed to step 7 if it is not then go back to step 1 and 2 and confirm you have done this correctly (if you re require help post IPconfig information and serviio log files))

7. Open serviio console and go to library tab, and enter the location your media is stored.

8. Tick the relevent boxes next to your new media location relevent to what you have in there (video, audio, pictures(one type per location is recommended)) you will also need to check (metadata) box and (keep files updated) boxes so that serviio download metadata and keep the location updated automaticly

more information on this can be found on our wiki pages http://wiki.serviio.org

9. Click save at bottom of page

10. To start indexing your media straight away click the force refresh button.

11. Select Serviio on your TV and enjoy

12. If it still reading this then clearly you missed a step cause you should be watching a movie by now. ;)

I suppose your PS3 use Wifi (same sub IP address 192.168.0.x than your PC Wifi Ethernet LAN)
So you have to bound the IP address on Serviio Console with the Wifi Ethernet LAN address : 192.168.0.101
But Wifi is not so good for HD video streaming, preferred hard wire.
