Samsung D40UE5000 and divx

Hi,

i have some divx movies, but when i want to watch them with serviio on my tv, i get the message unsupported file format".
When i'm playing the movies from an usb stick, they play correctly.
Does serviio support divx files, or have i to transcode them?

Some files will not play for whatever reason via DLNA. Normally divx files play natively, it's just the odd ones here and there.

Re: Samsung D40UE5000 and divx

Looks like files with this message:

  Code:
[mpeg4 @ 013f8a20] Invalid and inefficient vfw-avi packed B frames detected

are hardly ever playable. It might be playable in your software player, but the TV has probably different implementation of the decoding module (codec) thus failing to play that.

Also if you bought the file it might have some DRM in it preventing playback, although I don't think it's the case here.

mkv merge is easy.

1. install
2. open mmg.exe (mkvmerge gui)
3. add file in top box
4. click remux
5. enjoy :)

Re: Samsung D40UE5000 and divx

@zip: Ok the files are DRM protected, but i thought that when i can play these files from usb, than they should be played over serviio also. so its my fault.

@cerberus: I have installed mkvmerge gui but when i try to add files, there is no chance to add divx files. The fileextension is not listed.

Re: Samsung D40UE5000 and divx

Ok, as avi file i can add them.
remuxing time only 15 seconds. No errors, no warnings, but the mkv file now is not playable anymore.
In no player.
It seems that the DRM protection is the problem?
