Sony Internet TV NSX-GT1 (Google TV)

I've had both Serviio and the Google TV for some time now. They used to play nice together. There was a recent software update on the TV, and many of my videos that once played, no longer play.

I've updated my server to 0.6.0.1, so that is up to date, but I'm trying to get a proper Serviio profile, so things go back to normal. The Sony Bravia profile does not work, the Sony SMP-N100 profile does not work

I've posted a device sink on the wiki, it has the same name as this post.

Below is the ffmpeg output from a sample file.

PLEASE HELP!!

  Code:

Do you try others profiles? (Generic, Samsung, etc)

Is that supposed to tell me something? I read that thread 5 times before I posted mine. I don't see the overlap.

Are you asking me for more information?

In my original post, I stated that the movies were playable by the device. That implies that there's some server configuration at issue here.

I spent half the morning searching the 'net for an answer, and then I decided to create two accounts to join and post here, so I could ask a reasonable question, and get some help.

Is there some server profile or profile edit that will make the video in question (and hopefully others) play?

I tried Generic and all of the Sony profiles. I will work my way through the others and report back.

Thanks.

Re: Sony Internet TV NSX-GT1 (Google TV)

I use the Sony Google Blu Ray player (NSZ-GT1) and also had some issues after the OS update (though they may have been unrelated since I also had a network configuration change). Anyway, point is I updated Serviio to the current version 6.0.6.1 and I can now play the movies formats I used to be able to play. I use the "Generic DLNA profile". I think I even get 5 channel sound more robustly now too (thanks to all the hard work of the serviio developers).

I would be so crazy happy if could play .m2t files (what I get when I download from my canon miniDV HD camera) but I diligently tried messing with profiles when I started using serviio back in January and never got any kind of transcoding to work. (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1388&p=6761&hilit=circusdad#p6761).

My point in this is not to hijack your thread to talk about .m2t files but rather to point you toward a stopgap while you work DLNA out... There is a new app for google TV users called GTVBox. It is the only google tv app that I have paid money for but man am I happy because it can play the .m2t files if I change the extension to .mp4. That's it, all I have to do it literally change the extension and the app plays the video. Soooo happy. The interface is not nearly as nice as the media player app which gets icons served through Serviio and so I still use serviio for most movies but, for home movies I use GTVBox. (GTVBox is not a DLNA thing but rather reads Samba/network shares directly).

If you don't get media player to work you might try GTVBox to allay your frustration while you work out the DLNA server. I would help you generate a robust profile for the NSX-GT1 but, having failed miserably in January 2011, a second attempt by me would be futile. Please though, if you do develop one, share it as I would love to get my .m2t files through the media player without having to change the extensions. And, while you work on it, use GTVBox so you don't have to go without access to your movies in the interim.

yes illico spent a long time working on this and even supplied a possible profile to make it work on the last page. but from reading it you will also find that it seems the device only supports MP4 divx video and MP4 is not a format we can transcode to so on this information if the file are not in exactly the right format that the device likes they will not play, there is nothing we can do about this at the current time.

  Code:
 <Profile id="14" name="Sony Internet TV" extendsProfileId="1">
      <Detection>
         <HttpHeaders>
            <X-AV-Client-Info>.*INTERNET TV.*</X-AV-Client-Info>

         <!-- <MediaFormatProfile mime-type="video/divx">AVI</MediaFormatProfile>  -->

Just rename the files with an .m2ts extension and they will play just fine using serviio. If you get HDV video from a canon HDV camera (capture using HDV Split) then just do the rename. I have around 60 videos on my server and they play fine. Keep in mind that HDV is 25Mbps and will most likely only stream over a wireless N network or hard wired ethernet.

Re: Sony Internet TV NSX-GT1 (Google TV)

It is working for us. We set it up and saw that it worked when we first got our TV, then got sidetracked. Meanwhile there has been a google TV upgrade. Now we are ready to serve video to the TV. We upgraded serviio just in case and it is working on Windows 7. We used Generic DLNA profile. Set up the ports. We are serving mpg, m4v and mp4. We like the avia media player better than the built-in media player.

Thank you, serviio!
