Xbox 360 profile

Hello.

I suspect something is wrong with Xbox default profile. I tried some mkv files.

1. When playing "Helvetica.2007.720p.BluRay.x264-CiNEFiLE.mkv", processor works at 98-100%, and video freezes about every 10 sec. for about 8-10 sec. When video plays sound is OK.

2. When playing "BigBuckBunny-DivXPlusHD.mkv", processor load is also about 100%, video freezes every 2 sec, and sound is bad (amplifier shows STEREO, but file has 5.1 sound)

3. When playing "GIJoeTheRiseOfCobraTrailer-DivXPlusHD.mkv", processor is loaded about 20%, video and audio on Xbox is OK.

Also tried some .avi files, they all seems OK.

My computer is:
Intel Pentium 4 3.4 Ghz
RAM 2 GB
OS Ubuntu 11.10
Serviio 0.6.1
Java version 1.6_23

May be somebody has Xbox 360 profile customized to transcode from every format to play properly on Xbox?
Or is it a problem of my computer hardware?

Thank you.

Re: Xbox 360 profile

Yes, old HW, not powerful enough to transcode HD video on the fly.

Re: Xbox 360 profile

Thank you.

Are there any possibilities to use this HW as a transcoding media server ?

720p video seems to be OK. Does it mean if I feed Serviio with videos up to 720p, my HW will be able to transcode to Xbox's supported formats or HD Ready TV's?

What minimal HW requirements for Serviio (Linux) to be able to transcode from 1080p?

Thank you.

Re: Xbox 360 profile

you can ebalde detailed log, play a file, find the ffmpeg command and run it manually - you'll see the actual fps it's managing. You should get at least 26 I guess.

Re: Xbox 360 profile

Same Problem here!

Here is my Hardware:

Intel Celeron E3400 Dual-Core 2,6 Ghz
2 GB RAM DDR2 800 Mhz
Windows Server 2008 R2 x64
Serviio 0.6.2
Latest FFMPEG Version

I try to Transcode 1080p MKVs for my xBox 360, but i have massive "Lags". Ive read that Transcode to WMV only can use 1 Core, is this true? Can this be the Problem? Or is my Hardware not good enough?

Re: Xbox 360 profile

yes, that's your problem. you won't be able to watch 1080p mkv files on the 360 with this HW.

Is this also true? I have problems too and I have a AMD Phenom 2 (quadcore) OC'd to 4 gHz, 8 Gb RAM, Gigabit Ethernet and I have poor FPS as well but I feel I shouldn't :S
