TV Streaming

I couldn't find the answer on the forum, so I thought I would ask. Is there any plan to do TV streaming. I have seen this in Nero Home Media 4 and wondering if there are plans to go there with Serviio

cheers

Re: TV Streaming

Be glad to.

First I like this tool so don't be upset when I reference Nero Media Home, I don't like it but had tried it when I was first looking for a DLNA server.

TV stream seems to be a feature that takes advantage of a Tuner card installed in the PC. It scans for available channels and then presents them to the DLNA ciient. The user selects a channel and the tuner is tuned to that channel and servers up the TV video and Audio stream to the DLNA client that selected it. Its very cool. However Nero only appears to server up the first 12 channels even though it acknowledges all the channels it sees. This could be a bug...Anyway...thats TV streaming as I know it so far.

Ok, is it specific to a tuner model or is there an universal interface ?
Probably VLC should catch these channels and stream them locally, then serviio should server it as a DLNA resource ?
