Low resolution album art

I use Serviio on Win7 with a Pioneer N-30 music player and control it via my iPod and apps like iMedia Control or PlugPlayer. In both cases the resolution of the album art is extremely low when it appears on the iPod.

Is there a setting in Serviio where I can adjust the cover art resolution? Or is there anything else I can do here?

The metadata in the flac files and the pictures names cover.jpg are all high res.

Thankful for suggestions!

Re: Low resolution album art

album art are delivered in mutiple resources with different resolution:
JPEG_LOW
JPEG_MED
...
And this is the device renderer that select the proper resource.
If your device is not full DLNA compliant probably this the first resource (JPEG_LOW) that will be kept

Re: Low resolution album art

Thanks for reply.

Would you have any idea where such settings could be made?

Neither in Pioneer N-30 nor in the iPod apps are there any settings of graphics resolution.

it's given by DLNA spec that the thumbnail can be only 160x160 unfortunately.

Hi Zip,

you may be interested to know that another DLNA server im testing, on a samsung es 7000, doesnt respect this DLNA limit.
It is able to show a much higher resolution (looks like 512x512) but certainly bigger than 160x160.

*editi should confirm..not the thumbs given to tracks (they might well be 160x60)...im refering to album image that is presented on tv when you play a track.
regards
