MKV files on UED406000 causes disconnects

Hi there,

I´m struggling with making Serviio and my Samsung UED406000 work with mkv files on DLNA.Those files are causing random disconnects, even when just started playing.

The wifi is stable at 300 Mbps and any other file format I try works flawlessly. I checked it with some 1.7 Gb .avi files, that do not need transcoding, with the same resolutions as the .mkv ones (also 1.5 Gb in size). The only differences between the .avi files and .mkv ones are:

- .mkv files need transcoding for transporting over DLNA
- .mkv have subtitles, a separate .srt file. Howeve I did not try a .avi file with subtitles

Also sometimes when playing the same mkv file from usb hard drive, the file also cuts while playing. However this is happening a lot less than the disconnects over DLNA.

I already updated the tv to the latest firmware version.

I´m stuck here, what can I do to fix t? Can be a transcoding issue?

Thanks in advance!

The mkv doesn't need transcoding either.

Re: MKV files on UED406000 causes disconnects

Thanks zip,

However I do remember that when renoving transcoding option on Serviio, at least in version 0.6.1, the TV did not recognize the format, "Unrecognized file format" message appeared on the screen.

Anyway I would try disabling transcoding on Serviio, to double check this.

To explore other options, maybe the subtitles are causing this issue?

ah, so it might have too high level so that it needs to be transoded.

Re: MKV files on UED406000 causes disconnects

Well I did some tests, and you are right those files do not need transcoding.

So I activated the debug trace, and when those disconnects occured, this was logged:

  Code:
2012-02-15 21:31:45,904 DEBUG [VideoDeliveryEngine] Delivering file '4x03.mkv' in native format
2012-02-15 21:31:45,904 DEBUG [MediaItemDAOImpl] Getting file of media item 919

2012-02-15 21:31:45,971 DEBUG [WebServer] Incoming connection from /172.16.10.12:37329

And other times:

  Code:
2012-02-15 21:32:13,899 DEBUG [DiscoveryAdvertisementNotifier] Sending 6 'alive' messages describing device ab1df641-dfff-3e88-b2e0-9ec0ae80bfa8

2012-02-15 21:33:29,470 DEBUG [DiscoveryAdvertisementNotifier] Multicasting SSDP alive using interface net25 (Linksys AE1000 #2) and address 172.16.10.5, timeout = 0
.........
2012-02-15 21:35:38,798 DEBUG [WebServer] I/O error: Connection reset by peer: socket write error

Also, the same can happen, although less common, when playing from usb the same file with subtitles.

What can be causing this? Maybe are the files?
