Samsung B650 mp4 issues
Hi,
I'm a complete newbie to all this media server stuff, but I've just recently found out about the DLNA capabilities of my TV and have now bought a NAS drive on which to store what was already an ever expanding media library.
My issue is that the whole TV scene seems to be moving from the XviD codec to the x264 codec in the .mp4 container.
In the past I've always obtained my files and transferred to external hard drive, plugged that into the TV and watched pretty much an format available. Now that I trying out the Serviio server, trying to play the latest .mp4's is resulting in an error message "Not Supported File Format". But when I plug a USB drive in with the same files, they work straight of the bat.
Am I missing something here or is this just the way it's handled through DLNA? I have Transcoding enabled, but didn't think it would be necessary to transcode a file that is naturally supported on the TV...
Any help would be appreciated.
