[SOLVED] How to work regularly with my Bravia ?

I installed Serviio to work with my Sony Bravia 2011 tv (KDL-46HX729)

Watched a movie...works great....

Turn off computer/TV.....next day......

Sony TV does not see Serviio. Serviio appears to see Bravia (green light is on)

I uninstalled and install and it works again...

So my problem is that it works....and then it stops working...

Any ideas?

Problems getting serviio to work regularly with my Bravia

I found that I had a similar problem, albeit intermittently. I gave my PC a static IP and it works much better for me. (I didn't mind doing this bc my Serviio box is a desktop). I think the problem is the Sony device, not Serviio.

Confirm,
I suggest to fix IP address of all your devices (PC with Serviio, Sony, TV, etc).

How do I fix the IP address of all my devices?

I use http://unblock-us.com/ on both my PC and Sony Bravia if that makes a difference.

Thanks again

On a network, a server/rooter can automatically assign a IP address for all devices connected to the same network.
But if you restart a device, a new ip address can be assign, and you can lose serviio connection.
And for debugging its more easy to have a fix/static IP address for each devices (192.168.1.1(rooter), 192.168.1.2 (PC/Serviio),192.168.1.3(TV1); 192.168.1.4(TV2),192.168.1.5(Printer),etc)

Re: Problems getting serviio to work regularly with my Bravi

You may find that your broadband router allows you to tick a box to reserve addresses for each device in your home once they're connected. That's how I do it, then you can leave them all on DHCP (automatic settings). Setting them manually in the OS can be a pain if it's a laptop and you intend to use it elsewhere.

Thanks to everyone that replied.

I created a static IP on my computer and serviio is working now on my Sony Bravia.

Thanks again.

Problem did not come from Sony or Serviio, but from your network configuration.
