Some MKV files with very choppy audio on BDEM59

Hi All,
First thanks for producing Serviio. I had previously used Rivet, and after switching you guys offer a lot more functionality. It's a great app, please keep up the good work!

I'm noticing some very strange issues with some MKV files I have. The video will play at normal speed, and the audio plays at normal speed as well. However, my audio has a lot of static/clipping as it plays. It sounds almost like white noise is inserted every 500 milliseconds. This only occurs on a few files, and not on a majority of my library.

I've attempted to both do pass through audio, as well as set 2 channel audio transcoding. Neither seem to work.

I'm a software engineer, so I have no issues with providing output logs. However I was unable to find how to do so in the documentation on the wiki. I've probably just missed the correct page.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Platform: OSX 10.7.4
Serviio Version: 0.6.2
Samsung Software Version: 001012
Profile: Samsung TV (B-Series)

Thanks,
Todd

Thanks Petr,
Unfortunately, I don't see any ERROR or WARN level entries in the log4j output. Attached is my log4j. I'll work on building the ffmpeg library today, and see if that resolves my issue.

Re: Some MKV files with very choppy audio on BDEM59

I've just downloaded the latest stable 64 bit build from this site, and replaced the ffmpeg that's included in the MacOS native binary directory.

http://ffmpegmac.net/

I've then restarted Serviio. Unfortunately it does not seem to have resolved my issue. Any other suggestions I could try?

Thanks,
Todd

Re: Some MKV files with very choppy audio on BDEM59

Sorry for the spamming! I've converted the audio track to AC3 5.1 using an external tool, and that has resolved the issue. Is there a way to force all audio to be transcoded to AC3 5.1 for certain audio types? According to VLC, the audio codec is "A52 Audio (aka AC3) (a52)".

Thanks!
Todd

Re: Some MKV files with very choppy audio on BDEM59

so it already it ac3, obviously not encoded in the way the TV likes. You cannot transcode to the same audio codec unless you change the sample rate (it'll use acodec = copy)
