[SOLVED] MP4s stop early on Panasonic TX-L37ET5B

I am running Serviio 1.0 and have found that on a couple of MP4 files they finish about 1 or 2 minutes before the end. Haven't tried changing anything yet, but wondered if anyone has seen anything similar. I can't remember this happening on the previous version.

I have updated to 1.01 and now my TV is being recognised as "Panasonic Viera E/S/ST/VT 2011" instead of a "Panasonic Viera 2010"; but still getting the same problem. I have also noticed that if I pause an video and then restart it often jumps forward or backward instead of restarting at the same place.

Does anyone know if these problems are likely to be due to the TV profile or is this a problem with the transcoding/ decoding? I didn't have any of these problems with 0.6.2, but I am reluctant to go back as I am using the new features of the Pro edition.

I have the same TV, Im not sure the profile is correct but then again I dont have many file types to test with really.

I used the Intel tools that are recomended on this forum to get some kind of output from the TV of what it is supposed to play, well I think thats what its for. Maybe it could help some one with a profile for our TV.

the pause is related to the way Serviio works out where in the file you are when the TV ask for a time - it's estimated and may not be precise. It might also be the case for the end of file. I will try to make it more precise for future.

Not sure if this helps but I had most of my films/online content shutting off before the end on my samsung ES5500. I uninstalled ALL jave installs and just installed 32bit Java 6 on windows 7 X64. I then was able to watch to the end and Now I have a tx-l42e5b which still never cuts off.

I have cleaned up the old java installs and now only have the latest version of 6 - I have also uninstalled all other codecs on my machine. I think that the files do seem to play to the end now. However pausing mid file and restarting a couple of minutes later is still jumping up to 10 minutes backward or forward. Bit of a shame as I don't think I ever saw this in the 0.62 version - I will try the next update when it is available to see if it fixes.

Have been running 0.62 again and all back to normal. Files pause and restart properly and always play to the end. Just a shame I can't restrict folders to some of the clients around that house. That was the main feature that I used in 1.0.1.

Not sure if it did to be honest. I thought that cleaning up java/ codecs helped, but was still getting problems with pausing and restarting in the same place. Am running the older version now which is working better. I was going to wait for an update as it seemed that the dev thought it might be to do with the way Serviio works out where you are in the file.

I've just fixed a similar problems with video files ending early on my Panasonic E30 with Serviio running on my Windows 7 x64 HTPC. I was able to resolve this by uninstalling both serviio and java from the computer and the reinstalling Java x64, Java 32-bit and serviio in that order. I'm using Java v7u7 and Serviio 1.01. Video files now play until the end and during fast-forward the video image refreshes (which it previously didn't do), and it seems a lot more responsive.

Well I thought I had the problem resolved. Now Serviio is cutting the endings off again. Tried uninstalling then reinstalling Java and Serviio, but no luck. Also notice the playback on serviio is not smooth when fast forwarding. It's very frustrating.
