.mkv file issue with 1.0

I searched the forums and found other mkv issues, but nothing sounded quite like my problem. If it's been addressed, and I just couldn't tell because of my lack of fluency in technical jargon, I apologize.

I have a number of mkv files that played fine with 0.6.2, but now that I've upgraded to 1.0.1, there's a problem. They seem to play alright, but the duration shows as incredibly long (like, 200 to 500 hours). This makes it impossible to jump ahead at all. I haven't checked all my mkv files, but every one I have checked has had the same issue (though with different durations). I downloaded some sample mkv files that I will test out to see if any of them work any better.

I have a Samsung C series TV, and am using the C/D profile. I tried updating ffmpeg, but that didn't seem to help. Any suggestions? I know I should probably post a log file or something, but I don't know what exactly is needed. I already have debug on. Is it just the log file, or is there something else?

I've also had issues with jumping forward on certain wmv files. It just freezes and I can't get back to the menu or anything until the TV times out and turns itself off and on again. I've had this problem with all versions of Serviio, though, and from what I turned up through searching around is that there's really no fix for this at this point. Is that correct?

the long duration happens for transcoded files. I dont think there has been any change in the c/d profile to add more file to be transcoded. You can post detailed log of then playing the file and ffmpeg -i of the file.

There's something else I hadn't noticed before, because I hadn't watched any of the files long enough to see it. There's a sync issue as well. Do you think that would be caused by the same issue?

Like I said, I didn't have this problem with 0.6.2 or earlier versions. There was a similar problem with a few files before (though I can't remember if they were mkv files), but they were so few that I just avoided those files. This is with all mkv files that I've tried so far.

Hmm. After a restart of the Serviio service, the above file seems to play fine (as do many others), but I'm still having the issue with other files that played fine pre-1.0.

did you make any change to the c/d/e profile? It should play without transcoding.

I have the exact same problem on a Samsung UE40D5500 since 1.0, i can't forward/backward on most mkv files and the duration is shown as 00:00:00

Can you also post MediaInfo of the mkv file? This line has been added to enable playing files with mkv header compression.

Indeed removing that line fixes the problem for all mkv files i tested on. Everything work again as it should.

Restarting Serviio and Serviio Service didn't change anything, but I had to restart my computer and now they seem to play fine. Thanks.

I've got another issue with a couple mp4 files, though. It might be a similar problem, but I'm not sure. The duration comes up as over 5 hours for both these files (I think both show the same number for their duration), but unlike the mkv issue I was having, these don't play smoothly otherwise. There's an image, but every 2 seconds or so it pauses and says "Preparing to play". Any Ideas?
