BDT220 Unrecognized Device

As the title says. I replaced my BDT110 with a BDT220, hoping it would stream better. I am disappointed that it has the same issues as the 110, namely not playing the same types of video files as my Panasonic Viera TV (in another room). Also, the TV maintains an instant list of DLNA servers on my network (it sees all my Win 7 computers, even it there's nothing to stream), while both the 110 and 220 have to refresh the list every time I return to it.

As the title says, perhaps the problem is because Serviio doesn't recognize the BDT220. I just get the "Unrecognized Device". I've manually selected one of the Panasonic profiles (forget which one) and it will play everything the BDT110 would play, but it really seems to have issues with MKV files.

I still have a little time I can return the BDT220 to Amazon and get something else. Any suggestions? My Sony N200 plays practially everything I throw at it, but I don't like the UI as much as my Panasonic TV, which itself is better than the BDT220.

Re: BDT220 Unrecognized Device

The fact the TV doesn't remember serves has nothing to do of how Serviio recognizes the player. The profile just has not been updated for automatic detection of the player.

It's the BD player that doesn't remember, not the TV, but no problem. I just wasn't sure if there was a profile reason (as you say, not setup to auto-recognize) or a problem with the BD player.

No problem, I'm probably going to stick with the 220 because I'm too lazy to return it

Re: BDT220 Unrecognized Device

Ok, this is getting stranger. I ran a UPnP browser on my network and it sees everything except the BDT-220. The Viera ST30 TV is listed, but not the blu-ray player. I think there's something wrong with the firmware in that it doesn't respond to the uPnP broadcast request correctly, and that's why Serviio doesn't show it as a recognized device. :?

Re: BDT220 Unrecognized Device

hello i am a noob here..but did purchase the Serviio software to help stream my vast collection of mkv movies to my plasma P55ST50 TV. I am trying to set this up using my panasonic blu ray player (BDT220) model. In Serviio console I did set the profile to 'Pansonic Viera E/S/ST/VT (2011)'. My TV picks up the Serviio DLNA server but I am not able to play any of files (I get an instant 'Cannot play' for each file that i clicked on). Can anyone help guide me in the right direction? I have read what other users wrote about this issue and even attempted to modify the profile to include additional parameters. However every time i edit the profile Serviio fails to start. Please help direct me to some answers.

Thank You!

Try just using the Generic profile. I actually found it would allow me to play videos that the Panasonic profiles would not.
