3D MKV Streaming

Does Serviio support transcoding a 3D MKV format? I have a Samsung 8000 series TV which has been working really well with 2D MKV files (ripped from DVDs and Blurays using MakeMKV), but I have recently ripped a couple of 3D films but cannot seem to get them to display in 3D on the TV (only shows in 2D). Any thoughts?
Re: 3D MKV Streaming
i have tested 3d SBS mkv on samsung e/es 7000 and 8000 series successfully.
I used SBS format. The TV auto detected and put itself into 3D mode.
FWIW For most SBS 3d mkvs i can tell the tv to show 3d as 2d (ie half the refresh rate, but not have to wear glasses).
you dont need to transcode 3d mkv, just ensure its in a format understood by tv...suggest you try SBS.

Re: 3D MKV Streaming
I am using MakeMKV to rip the 3D Blurays and it stores the 3D component in MVC format. Does serviio support this format for 3D playback? I am guessing not as I only get 2D but wanted to check anyway.

Yes, with Side By Side encoding

Re: 3D MKV Streaming
Hi Petr, thanks for replying. Are there any plans for serviio to support MVC format? MakeMKV only creates the 3D content in MVC format and there I can't watch my 3d films through serviio at the moment
Alternatively, can anyone recommend a good alternative to MakeMKV that can produce MKVs with the 3D content in SBS format (that doesn't take forever to process each disc and retains the quality) - oh and the ability to create separate subtitle files would be useful to as MakeMKV encaodes them into the stream which I don't think serviio can read either (unless I am mistaken it needs a separate subtitle file?).
Cheers
