Samsung UE40ES5500 "No supported file" on all files

I'm using Serviio (on Ubuntu Desktop 12.04 LTS) for a few days no and everything used to work fine. However, suddenly it stopped working.

Every file I select (if it is a music file, a video file or any other file) it gets met the message "File not supported" on my TV. I have given my TV a fixed IP and selected it as SAMSUNG C/D/E device in the Renderer Profile. I also noticed that the icon of Serviio is not shown on my Samsung TV anymore, in stead it is using a default icon for DLNA (a computer).

I enabled extended logging (DEBUG) and attached my log in the attachment to this post.

I hope you can help me out!

Re: Samsung UE40ES5500 "No supported file" on all files

I have a Samsung 32", otherwise the same model and am having exactly this problem.
My "Allshare" programme is also refusing to work, having worked OK for a few days shortly after setting it up. Samsung are corresponding with me and offering various suggested remedies, none of which have worked so far. Latest is to check date of Firmware & this seems to be OK, at 10.30.
I'm not worried whether I use "Allshare" or "Serviio", which again worked OK for a day or two after installing and now does not show up on my TV.
I have tried updating the Samsung Firmware but the TV does not recognise any valid Firmware files on my USB "Stick". As mentioned, I have today been asked by Samsung to verify version of the Firmware on the TV and this is the latest: 10.30.
I find the Serviio control panel a bit confusing - I am a total novice with this kind of thing and I don't understand some of the more techy terms. Is there an idiots guide explaining exactly and in simple terms how to set the thing up properly?

Serviio binds to 127.0.1.1. Enter the proper IP address to the Bound IP Address field in the console.

Changed it, still I can't play ANY file on my Samsung TV. I get the message 'File not supported' by every file (music, video).

Really hope someone has a solution for me. I put a lot of efford in installing Serviio and now it doens't do anything.

The message on the TV is btw "The selected file is not currently supported".

Re: Samsung UE40ES5500 "No supported file" on all files

Here is a new log file.

Seems like the errors don't get reported to the Serviio log file. I now tried video files, music files and even photo's... with all files I get the error message like described above.

Re: Samsung UE40ES5500 "No supported file" on all files

this log only includes about 10 seconds of events... still don't see any requests from the tv, just library updates. Is this the complete file or are you cutting something out? There might be other files ending with .0, .1 as well, zip then all up and attach here

The log is full of updates to your library. Can you reinstall Serviio, turn on detail logging again, add a directory with just a few files, browse to them on the tV and try to play. Then post the log again.

I followed this guide for installation; http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=how ... buntu12-04

How do I re-install the application?

I followed this guide again: http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=how ... buntu12-04

First I used 'remove' in stead of the 'install' in every commando.
Then I did a sudo-apt-get autoremove, sudo-apt-get clean, sudo-apt-get update
After that a restart

Followed the whole procedure again, now with installing the latest version of Serviio (1.1).
After that another restart
Started the service

Waited for a day so the libary could get filled again. Then started my Samsung TV again, started AllPlay, selected Serviio Server, get to a music file (.mp3) and unfortunately I still get the same message.

I still can't play any file (music, movie, photo). Every file I play I get the message "This file is not supported". I've attached a log again.

I'm almost giving up on Serviio, what can it be and why is it so hard to get this working? I followed everything exactly as provided in the guides.

Using Serviio Media Browser from a random PC everything does work. Do you have any clue?

I'm sorry, I give up on Serviio.

I installed PS3 Media Server and it worked right out of the box. I'm sticking with that software.

Thank you anyway for your support.

Re: Samsung UE40ES5500 "No supported file" on all files

I would really like this resolved too. I PS50C7000 plasma and have been using serviio very happily for years. So I thought I'd pick up a UA40ES5500 for the bedroom and all would be well.... Seems like the ES55000 can't seem to play anything successfully, instead I'm presented with a "This file is not currently supported" error message. I'm using the Samsung B/C/D/E transcoding in serviio as well.

I really would like it if serviio would work with my new TV. Please help me somebody :(
-----------------------------------
EDIT: since the post above, serviio started working. I'm not sure if it was related to me installing the K Lite Codec pack or AviSynth (while fiddling with PS3 Media Server). All is well and good now with serviio and the new TV (as well as the old one).

I <3 serviio
