Using Online Metadata to retrieve a numerical movie name

I have a movie file named "1408 (2007).mkv" which matches exactly the name in TMDb, but serviio fails to find the name. I am using the "Online metadata sources" metadata setting, and do NOT wish to change this. How do I fix this issue?

Re: Using Online Metadata to retrieve a numerical movie name

Venturing a guess here, but I think that the reason is that the third party site that Serviio uses doesn't have that movie cataloged.

Does anyone know what site serviio is using for it's movie info? I have seen it mentioned here before but can't find it right now. You could check there and see if they have it listed.

It might also try to match a episode (series 14 ep 08)

It's matching episode, rather than a movie. I'll remove the SSEE matcher for 1.2, it brings more problems than benefit

Re: Using Online Metadata to retrieve a numerical movie name

To be honest I like the season/episode facility. The problem is that there's no way to tell serviio currently the difference between a series and a movie. Couldn't a special character be used to denote a hint that it's a movie or a series?
What about if the filename contains a hash '#' then this denotes that the file is from a series, and a tilda denotes a movie? These would be optional, so if they aren't there then serviio behaves as currently.

Re: Using Online Metadata to retrieve a numerical movie name

I notice v1.2 has
removed support for matching episode file names in format SSEE

BUT http://www.serviio.org/index.php?option ... icle&id=12 still states you can use this format in the filename.
So, how does episode lookup work now, for metadata extraction?
Will a file named "Merlin.2008.S05E10.mkv", for example, still work in v1.2?

That format is for things like 0510 which caused problems as it can look like a year/years look like episodes. It is different from formats that look like S05E10, so that file name should work fine.
