No Profiles show up when I start serviio-console.sh (SU)

Hello Everyone,
I just did a fresh install of Serviio 1.1 and Fedora 17 on the system that is intended to be my media server. Everything is working except that when I start serviio-console.sh there are no renderer profiles on the status tab. The version of Java that I am running is java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.9-2.3.5.3.fc17.i686. This is the same version that I am running on another system on the same network that has a working installation of the same version of Serviio...

I had been running jre-1.7.0_15-fcs.i586 from java.sun.com but I downgraded to the same version I am running on my other system, just to see if that was causing my problem. Apparently that was not the issue.

Until I get Serviio working on this media server, I am running the same version of Serviio on my main system, also Fedora 17. Serviio sees my Sony bluray player just fine... But the same version of Serviio is running on both systems.

Thank you in advance for your help. I trust that this issue is easily fixed, as I have been using Serviio for quite a while, and it has always Just Worked until now.

Re: No Profiles show up when I start serviio-console.sh (SU)

New information:
In another thread on this forum that has almost the same name as my thread, someone said that they disabled iptables on Fedora 17 and Serviio started working. So, even though it seemed like a bad idea, and I have never had to do it before to make Serviio work, I tried it. Guess what happened? Serviio started working! Serviio now has a Renderer profile in the console, and it shows up on my Bluray player, and my wife's Google Nexus 7 tablet. So, just to make sure that that was what made everything work, I tried re-enabling iptables. Serviio disappeared on both devices. Re-enable, Serviio comes back. So, what I want to find out now is why can I run Serviio & iptables on one of my systems, but on the other system I have to disable iptables to make it work?

Running "diff" on "/etc/sysconfig/iptables" from both systems referred to in this topic, I found a port that was open on the "working" system that was not open on the other. This led me to Google "Port 8895" which quickly led me to this:

Translation: my problem was solved by following the directions on the Serviio FAQ.

Sorry for the noise, my problem had already been discussed in the Serviio FAQ.
