FFMPEG Missing - Tried all suggestions!

A couple of weeks ago Serviio stopped working and after doing some digging on the log it appears that FFMPEG is missing.

Since then i have downloaded the latest version from the recommended site and copied it into the folder which has had no affect.
All my folders are shared.
There are no multiple user accounts so Serviio should work as i have read on another thread.
I have reinstalled the latest version of Serviio but it still does not work.

Please can someone help as i have no idea why this is not working.

Strange. It should be located in this folder:

Sorry I was referring to the error log were it says ffmpeg is missing.

Ffmpeg is in the lib folder but for some reason serviio does not read it or use it.

As I said I have reinstalled serviio, ran the debug log and got this error.
I have updated ffmpeg to the latest release and still got this error.

Is there anything else I can do? Thanks

is the ffmpeg.exe not corrupted? can you run it?

I am not very tech savvy but if i double click on the ffmpeg.exe file, it quickly flashes up and disappears. Are you referring to running it from the command line?

I am using Windows 7 by the way. I have also tried to install previous versions of Serviio but still no joy.

yes, try it from command line

It looks like it has no problem with dcraw.exe from the same folder though.

OK so in the command line i typed

start "C:\Program Files\Serviio\lib\ffmpeg.exe" and it opened another command line.

I then tried

start ffmpeg.exe

and it said it could not find the file.

OK, so ffmpeg appears to be working fine then.

As a workaround, maybe take a look in your ServiioService.exe.vmoptions file which is in C:\Program Files\Serviio\bin. Maybe hardcode the ffmpeg.exe location in the file by adding the line (and then restart the service):

Okay. I opened the file with notepad and added in the line and restarted the service. I have looked in the log and still get the same error.

Any other ideas? Do you want me to post the full log?

Problems with Java? Recent update maybe? Maybe uninstall all Java versions that may be installed, and then reinstall the latest version? Some people have recently had problems with a recent Java update. One person suggest installing from the offline standalone installer.

I have reinstalled java but still no luck. Ffmpeg is still not found in the log.

Weird. So no changes made to your system that you can think of at around the time things stopped working?

I did update java so thought it may have been that. I downloaded some films and put them n one of my shared directories and then the day after serviio stopped working. I have removed them since but still no change with serviio. I think windows may have downloaded updates and restated also but cant think of any other changes. Gutted as well because I had it all working perfectly!

So you don't have multiple versions of Java installed (i.e. listed in Control Panel -> Programs and Features)? Sometimes I have found previous entries after Java updates.
