playlist not found

hi all. i have been reading up on the use of playlists in Serviio. from what i gather in all of the threads i have seen, any .m3u file i put in my music folder, which is included in Serviio, my playlist should show on my media device.

the specs:
running QNAP T212 with Serviio (by the way, great installation help you guys. i was able to load and install the QPKG following instructions in these forums, and it works great !)
sony 2010 TV
music, pictures, music all play fine using Serviio on the sony TV.

on the TV when i select Playlist, i get the message 'no files found'
on the serviio log, snippet here, you see the playlist being added. any thoughts on why there is no visibility to the playlist shown ? thanks.

Re: playlist not found

enable detailed log and check if it still checks for files from the playlist (unresolved items)

Re: playlist not found

i turned on DEBUG as instructed, and restarted Serviio on my NAS (from the QPKG centre).

other details:

i had created my playlist with VLC on my Win PC, rather than on the NAS with Serviio. then i copied the playlist to my NAS in the location of my music shared by serviio. i had a look at the playlist on the NAS directory with Notepad, and noted that the files referred to in the playllist were all prefixed by Y:\public\... which made me think that maybe Serviio won't find them.

so i edited the .m3u VLC playlist with notepad and changed the prefixes on the songs to be the \share\.... directory referred to in the NAS where the music is located, and the playlist is located. then i did a Serviio Refresh.

the playlist is still not being seen from my Sony TV, although when i look at this log, looks to me that everything is resolved without error (except 1 song) the Debug log is included here in the attachment.

thanks in advance for all of your help....

re:

Item '/share/Public2/pubmusic\kim carnes\Kim Carnes - Bette Davis Eyes.mp3' cannot be resolved to an entity in the Serviio library, will try again later

If the device is not a Windows box, then the backslashes will need to be changed to forward slashes in the playlist file. Blackslash in a Unix environment is for escape characters, not directories.
Using Serviio on Debian "Wheezy" with Xbox 360, Sony BDP-S370 & Panasonic E6.

Re: playlist not found

worked like a charm! problem resolved. i fixed all of the backslashes to be forward slashes, and after the next refresh the playlist appeared. thanks, all for your help.

if i can make a suggestion, maybe a few more 'user friendly' error messages in serviio would go a long way to not having to open problems up like this in the forums. for example, a error message that referred to 'file not found' type of messages in the logs would have went a long ways to me solving my own problems.

thanks, again all. great product. will continue using and recommending it. :)
