Sony Bravia 2012 - problem with transcoding from Synology

Hello,

I have just installed Serviio on my Synology DS413j and it works great.
However I have problem with one video file with the following parameters:
File: 1.36 GB (1.36 GB), time 1:34:00, type: AVI, 1 path, audio, quality 83 %, VirtualDubMod 1.5.4.1 (build 2178/release), ,
Video : 1.11 GB, 1698 Kbps, 25.0 fps, res. 640*368 (16:9), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported
Audio : 258 MB, 384 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 6 channels, 0x2000 = AC3 DVM, CBR, , Supported

When I try to play this movie on my Sony Bravia KDL-22EX550 or KDL-40HX850 via DLNA I get message that the it is impossible to play that file.

I expect the problem with transcoding of audio from AC3 DVM. I tried to play with profiles.xml but without result :(

Please help!!! I would like to avoid offline transcoding.

Re: Sony Bravia 2012 - problem with transcoding from Synolog

Check on detailed logging to see if this file was delivered in native avi format or if it was transcoded (then check ffmpeg command line used).

Re: Sony Bravia 2012 - problem with transcoding from Synolog

Thank you for a tip. I have changed the file /volume1/@appstore/Serviio/config/log4j.xml as described in the referenced post i.e. set up DEBUG mode.
No I am scanning files *.log.* in /volume1/@appstore/Serviio/log but I cannot find any entry regarding the video file (avi) which I want to display on TV.
I am looking for a name of a file - without success. What is done wrong by me?

Re: Sony Bravia 2012 - problem with transcoding from Synolog

It seems that previously serviio was overloaded with building library and does not logged ever action.

Please find below the part of log file regarding the file. It is delivered without transcoding.

Re: Sony Bravia 2012 - problem with transcoding from Synolog

Could you edit the ./serviio/config/profiles.xml file, find the Sony Bravia 2012 profile section and edit the following lines:

  Code:
...
         <Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" maxVBitrate="17000" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384" DAR="16:9" forceInheritance="true">
            <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="high" levelGreaterThan="4.1" />
            <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="main" levelGreaterThan="4.1" />
            <Matches container="mpegts" vCodec="vc1" />
            <Matches container="avi" aCodec="ac3" /> <!-- Add this line -->
         </Video>
...

Save, and restart serviio services or reboot.
