Serviio won't start

Hi!

From one day to another suddenly Serviio won't start. When I click the icon simply nothing happens and it doesn't appear in the taskmanager

I installed 1.2.1 recently, but uninstalling it and reinstalling 1.2 doesn't work either.
Is this a common problem? Any ideas what might go wrong?

post a copy of your serviio logs so we can see what is going on.

The Log folder is empty, or can I find it somewhere else?

I had this issue when I was updating from 1.1 to 1.2 and it was a Java issue. The same happened when I installed 1.21 as I had to do a clean install of my media server and the serviio installer installed version 7 of java.

Java had auto updated to version 7 and that is not compatible with Serviio from what I found. I just installed version 6 of Java and it started up fine.

Ah thanks, that could be the problem! Java Updater was nagging me for some time.

Remember to disable automatic updates for Java in the Java settings within the Control Panel.

Reason I say is because mine just tried to update by itself it was just UAC that caught it.
